Mark's Graduation

Thursday was the big day. Mark graduated and we closed another chapter in our lives called school. Now it's off to work, when Mark finds a job. Right now we are enjoying being together so much and getting to see all of Alianna's firsts together. Mark is so helpful and such a great daddy. I'm sure Alianna loves having him home with us so much. I know I really love it.

Alianna got all dressed in her tartan skirt for Mark's graduation. It was quite big on her and fell down a lot, but we got some great pictures.
Mark gets ready in his kilt he hired for the day. He looked really good!
Alianna liked to watch Mark getting ready. She's standing holding Mark's hanger. Doesn't she look so tiny!!

The sun is starting to do it's sideways route where it only rises about halfway and goes sideways then down again. It makes long shadows all winter and cold days. A lot of areas never see the sun because they are always in shadow. We tried to get a picture with the castle in the background. (Can you see it?) But Mark had the sun in his eyes and the castle is just too far away. In real life it is a great view.

Mark in front of McEwan Hall where he graduated.

A bagpiper was playing as we all gathered and entered, and when we left. He had a lot of photos taken of him.

Here are the graduates in McEwan Hall
Alianna and I waiting in our seats. It was a long wait for Alianna who wanted to be crawling and walking around.
Where's Waldo, I mean Mark. Can you spot him?
Mark has graduated! Here he is with his diploma all rolled up in the red tube.
Some of Mark's classmates.

Graduation was right during Alianna's nap, so when we finally got out she was exhausted. We were sitting listening to the bagpiper outside and Alianna was singing away bouncing on my knee, when she just stopped. I looked down and her eyes were closed. She sang herself to sleep.
Mark organized a class dinner for after graduation at one of our favorite restaurants Ciao Roma. Lots of people came--classmates and family. It was fun.
After a long day and late night we came home and had the babysitter take our photo. Alianna slept the whole time we were away and we had a great night out.
Alianna had a lot of fun the next morning playing with Mark's outfit. She loved the sporran (the little pouch worn in front of the kilt as a pocket to keep things) and the chain that held it on.
