Almost Christmas

The last two Sundays Mark and I made chocolates. We made them 2 weeks ago to wrap under the tree for ourselves. But Mark had so much fun he said he wanted to do more, and eat more right now. So we made some more to eat and give away as gifts. It was really fun. We made chocolate covered nuts and pretzels and popcorn and raisons. They were yummmmmy.

Last Thursday we went to see Santa at Jenners (a huge old department store). They had Santa's grotto set up. A corner of the store was set up like Santa's house. First we went in one door to the waiting area where Santa's sleigh was set up. Really cool sleigh with reindeer going into a big screen with snow falling (on the screen). Next we walked through a hall with a decorated big dollhouse and piles of toys. Then was Santa on his throne with bags of toys all around him and a tree and decorations everywhere. It was really nice. Santa was friendly and nice to Alianna, and she had a great time. Luckily there weren't many people there, only 2 kids ahead of us, because of the huge hail balls, lots of snow, slush, ice and more hail. It was the first snow of the season, but the one time when there were pretty snowflakes when I wanted to take a photo of Alianna outside and show her the snow, she was napping. Oh well. It's snowed and hailed since, but no pictures yet.

Santa! Alianna wondered who is this guy?

This one is not Christmas, but cute. Lately Alianna has been wanting to put on my and Mark's hats and gloves and walk around the house. She thinks it's fun.
We dressed up for the Sunday before Christmas. I had to show off Alianna's cute dress.

This is from 2 weeks ago. Alianna's hair is finally long enough to put a clip in!
