Photo update

I wanted a new photo for a frame we had just hung, so I brought Alianna outside for a photo shoot. I think she was tired and cold. For whatever reason, she would not smile. So, out of almost 100 photos, here are the best 3.

Eli's smile. Isn't it great. He loves to smile and smile and smile, especially in the morning, and whenever he gets a little undivided mama attention.
While Eli and I went to a wonderful women's conference at church, Alianna and Mark went to the zoo. It was a few weekends ago, but Alianna still loves to talk about how the tiger was sleeping and she tried to wake him up, but he wouldn't wake up. And she learned a new sound--the seal.

We finally got Alianna a new bed. She was climbing in and out of her crib and we wanted her to be safe, so we bought a big bed. Look how tiny she looks on it! She has only slept in it a few times however, and still wants to sleep in her little bed (we haven't taken it down yet due to lack of tools, and the fact that she now wants it, kind of...she still climbs out).

Alianna has started to read some large books lately, with her favorite being Lord of the Rings. I don't know why she pulls this one off the shelf all the time, but she will sit and flip through the pages and babble and sing.
Eli loves his mobile. He will happily lay in his bed and watch it while I tidy up the room or take care of Alianna. He is such a patient happy boy!
Eli sat all by himself a few days ago. He was sitting between my legs when I noticed he wasn't leaning on me. I went for the camera, and I think Alianna was worried he might fall; she ran over and put her hand on his back. He's done it a few more times, but not for very long. He's so young to sit! It will probably be a while until he can really sit on his own.
Alianna loves to give Eli hugs. Eli's not so sure about the whole big sister hug thing yet.
Eli is getting a good grip. He can hold onto toys now!
Isn't he so cute!
One of Alianna's new favorite things to do, besides play with her baby doll, is puzzles. She can do this Dora puzzle all by herself now (25 wooden pieces). She loves to do it over and over again, then do her other Dora puzzle and the two new ones we bought last night which aren't quite as nice, but she still enjoys them. On a side note, she has begun to really like Dora. Someone gave her a Dora book with a flashlight that makes noises, and she does the puzzles all day... I'm glad Dora at least looks like a cute little proportioned kid and she likes to teach. Alianna has been learning muy bien (very good) and excellente! She's funny though, if I use those when she is not doing something with Dora she says noooo then Dora.
