Utah

So, Alianna and I went to Utah to visit my mom and brother for a little while. We were going to stay 2 weeks, but ended up staying 4. It was a fun trip, but we missed Mark a lot. He had to work back in hot hot CA. I was glad UT was a little cooler. Here are some of the fun things we did (sorry to everyone we didn't see, which was pretty much all our friends in UT... we had a hard time getting out much).
Oh, I almost forgot to mention we went out to Utah in July because all my roommates from my first 3 years at BYU (minus Jackie and we missed her a lot), were in UT for a roommate reunion. We wanted to do more, but at least we've managed to do one in between having kids, getting married, and just being busy with school and work.
Here we all are>me, Elise, Katie, Lisa and Alex. We had great times as roommates and lots of fun up in Eden UT.

We even got to go to the beach (on lake Eden), but the water was really cold, so we headed to the heated pool instead.
Here we are by the David O. McKay house. We saw it on the way to the beach and stopped on the way back, but we just missed the tour. We had to try to peek in all the windows instead.

Back at my mom's house... Alianna had a lot of fun playing with my mom while I was gone for about 3 days with my friends. Alianna loved to peek out while climbing the stairs.
She loved my old yoga ball even though it seemed bigger than her. She pushed it around and sat on top (with help) and bounced.
We didn't have a highchair, but Alianna did great on her booster seat made out of a stack of phone books.
We went to the BYU Natural History museum. Alianna loves animals and was really excited to see the lions and elephant and bears. She was growling and trumpeting and making all sorts of animal noises.
Here she is testing how the animals feel.
My mom has two stories in her house, and Alianna loved climbing up and down the stairs. We all got a workout climbing with her.
Alianna loves bubbles!
One day my mom was resting after playing with Alianna for a long time, so I took Alianna into another room. While opening cupboards and looking at everything inside (one of Alianna's favorite games), we found a kit to make balloon animals. We blew up a lot of balloons and I twisted them up. They were a little old and some popped pretty fast, but we made this nice flower for my mom. Thinking we would give it to her, we quietly snuck around the house looking for her, but couldn't find her anywhere. Then, at last, we saw her sleeping on the couch, but not until we were right in front of her. I told Alianna to be quiet and she said shhhhh, then one of the balloons popped! So much for letting my mom rest.
It was cooler in UT than Fresno, but it still got pretty hot some of the days. One day we ran through the sprinklers and let Alianna play some more.
My mom has a rocking chair that once was her brothers. It still works great and was just Alianna's size. She loved it!
We were sad to be away from Mark on the 4th of July, so we drew him some pictures and mailed him a package to tell him we love and miss him.
Then we went to Colonial days in Provo. It was a small gathering of colonist reenactors.
Alianna had fun playing with the old rattle.
Fun with Uncle Daniel.

We went to the Payson Scottish festival. It reminded us of our last home.
Someone was selling puppies and Alianna got to hold one. It was so cute! And she was so happy.
This was a great garage sale find. Alianna loved pushing the stroller around. We managed to fit it in my suitcase too, but Alianna doesn't know it's here yet. I'm waiting until she gets bored with all her old toys that seem new right now, because she hasn't seen them in so long.
This was a fun place for Alianna to play. She found a space behind the couch with a rolled up carpet that she could stand on and walk back and forth. She loves doing balance beam type things, ie. walking on every little curb in a parking lot or up high on the edge of flower beds, so the rolled up carpet was great. She especially liked all the windows she could look out while she walked.
Our last night we remembered to do our little fireworks and sparklers we had for the 4th of July. They were fun.
