Halloween
I know it's late, but I wanted to get in Halloween photos before Thanksgiving. I wish we could have called you all on Skype on Halloween so you could have seen how cute the kids were, but as it went we barely got them dressed and out the door to make it to Halloween parties, and on Halloween night Alianna was way to excited to wait around. She wanted to knock on those doors and say tick o teat. It was so cute! Of course we had to play trick or treat for days afterwards. The candy was a fun new toy. Eli even had fun putting candy in Alianna's pumpkin every time she lowered it down to the floor. But now it is gone. We finally gave it all away. I'm glad it's not tempting us to eat it anymore. Now just to eat well with all the Christmas cookies...
We went to a really fun pumpkin patch. They had a hay ride, hay bale maze, corn maze, and pumpkins we could cut right off the vine with wagons to carry them to the car. We had a great time there.
We all dressed up for Halloween. Mark and I were pirates and we had our pet parrot and monkey. Alianna picked her own costume and helped make it too. She helped shop for brown pants, shirt, and socks; then to the fabric store for brown to make a tail. She even helped feed the fabric through the sewing machine to sew the tail an headband. She had ears for one party, but didn't like them much. That's ok. Her ears are good monkey ears. Eli's parrot costume was finished just in time. I had the idea and drew out a design early, and the sewing and cutting all those feathers really didn't take too long. But even a few minutes are hard to squeeze in.
While the parrot costume was being sewn, Eli was a pumpkin for the library Halloween party.
Yes, even baby had a costume. Alianna made it while I made Eli's. She actually made costumes for quite a few of her little friends (little bear and brother bear--bear washcloths, and Bobo her monkey alarm clock). In case you couldn't tell, baby is a leopard (notice all the spots) and Bobo is Arthur (from the Arthur books).
