Aberdeen

We took the train up to Aberdeen for a couple of days for an all energy conference.  Alianna was by far the youngest attendant, and everyone loved seeing her there.  The train ride was beautiful, almost the whole 2 1/2 hours we could see the water.  We had some time to tour around the city too.  It's not too big of a city, but there were some cool things to see and a beautiful beach.  Too bad it wasn't warm enough to swim!

We arrive and walk around.  Aberdeen is known as the granite city.  They have a lot of granite, and all the buildings in the city centre are made out of granite.  There are some really large buildings too.  And some fancy ones.

At the beach
Looking out over the North sea.  There were dolphins way out.  I saw some splashes from the dolphins jumping beside a boat.  There is a lot of oil off Aberdeen as well so we saw a lot of oil boats.

This is Marischal College, the second largest granite building in the world.

William Wallace 16 foot statue.  He's the one from Braveheart.
